How to change the color of anything using Lightroom
There are a lot of times when you might want to change the color of something in an image, whether it’s clothing, the sky, or something else. This great tutorial will show you how to do just that using only Lightroom.
Coming to you from Mango Street, this helpful video will show you how to change the color of almost anything using Lightroom. You might be used to using Photoshop for this task, but it’s also possible in Lightroom, and if you’re like me, I like to stay there unless I truly need to switch over to Photoshop. While I’ll frequently adjust the hue, saturation, and luminosity of individual colors via the sliders in the Develop module, this is just a global adjustment and doesn’t let you change specific areas to any color. This is where this technique comes in, which allows you to paint on a color using the adjustment brush fairly similarly to how you would in Photoshop, the trick being to desaturate the original hue first. The beauty of using an adjustment brush for this is that besides being able to target specific areas, you can control all the usual settings as well, which allows you to convincingly blend the new color. Try it out!
